Ok, so I threw Nizoral into my routine, 2% once every 3 days. I use Jason's tea tree oil shampoo before to prep the scalp, with Jason's tea tree conditioner after to moisturize. I had been using Propecia 1 mg for 4 years when a month ago I started on the nizoral.
Problem - when I apply the nizoral, I carefully but consistently rub it in with my finger tips to ensure contact with my scalp. I let sit for 5 minutes but when I wash it out, I notice between 7-15 hairs coming out on my hands, mostly full and dark. I am fairly sure it is a direct result of the friction of working it into my scalp that breaks hair off in the process. I am hesitant to write this off as a shed as I just started using it and the hairs are dark, and it is exactly what used to happen in the shower early in my hairloss. Before I started nizoral, in the last year I have had virtually no hairs come off when I used regular shampoo. Suddenly, all these hairs - I know people say to stick it out, but how can one be sure it is a shed and not due to friction? If it is friction what should I do, is there any less harsh way to rub it on? I don't want to keep this routine if I'm doing more damage than good. Thanks.
