Two different diagnoses

I have had hair loss for more than three years. I have gone to two different dermatologists and have gotten two different opinions. This makes it impossible to make a decision as to any treatment. My first diagnosis was alopecia areata and my second one was that my hair loss was emotionally caused. Has anyone experienced this situation and do you have a solution?

Three years emotional hair loss. Yes, I have heard that you can lose hair through stress and strain, but for 3 years??

My guess is that the first diagnosis was correct. I would get a third opinion to be 100% sure though. And don't tell the third one that you had two Drs giving different opinions.

Then decide on what action to take after that..
