Well, there are worse things in life than being a "Norwood spotter"

I've been one ever since I discovered the Norwood scale. Before that there was just a sliding scale of

Grown out NW1 - Very thick hair
NW1 buzzed-grown out NW2 - hair
NW3 - Thin hair
NW4+ - bald

Never paid attention to patterns or quality/density of hair unless it was of the two extremes. Now it's all I see when I look at a guy.

1) guy had hair
2) guy is going bald
3) bald guy

it's really odd how this works huh?

looking back at college, there were some guys who were NW4 and 5+ and it never even crossed my mind that they were "bald".

it wasn't until i noticed balding in myself that i started picking up on it, and now i can tell guys even in the very earliest stages of hair loss.
