trying to reverse frontal thinning

Recently restarted finasteride after a year off, figuring it wasn't doing much. I used it from 1998-2001 and again in 2003-2004 out of fear that the last stand for my hair was imminent.

While there's been no significant thinning on the crown, I've had an unpleasant degree of frontal thinning since then, and would be satisfied if the widow's peak regained volume, or at least wasn't stuck with these awful strands in the front.

Any thoughts on this situation are welcome...

Try a topical application of spiractalone 5%. That should maintain your hairline.

I wouldnt do this. I would look to other proven treatments first i.e. Nizoral shampoo and Minoxidil. Adding these to your treatment regeime would certainely help. And it goes without saying you should try and maintain use of Propecia this time!
If after 12 months you dont really see much improvement, you could try adding an unproven treatment such as spironolactone.
