Triggered male pattern baldness

One thing I don't understand about male pattern baldness is that all of the sudden it starts whether it be natural or by the help of another source(stress, steroids, etc.) But what causes it to all of the sudden start and if it was started or one lost hair due to steroids or an external factor wouldn't it cause the hairloss to then stop again once the intruding agent is out of the body's system?? A good example of this is a woman taking testosterone injections and losing hair. Once all the test is out of her body should she then stop balding or will the course continue forever because it has been triggered by the steroid? You would think once the intruding agent is gone one would go back to very very minor thinning or none at all considering that person wasn't losing hair before?

Anabolic steroids cause free T serum levels to rise which in turn allows for androgen upregulation in peripheral tissues, which mean more androgen receptors and DHT conversion. Once DHT is transcripted to the cell, it is irreversible. (this is my understanding.)

It isn't the DHT that makes hair loss irreversible. It's the downstream response to the actions of DHT that are the problem, but hair loss is still a reversible process.

Doctor, can you elaborate a little bit? I'm curious as to how to reverse the process and with what! Do you mean we should try and mitigate the downstream effects like TGF-beta? Can you suggest something? Topical curcumin? Also, do you think that years on anti-androgen such as oral spironolactone (I'm a woman) could eventually downregulate the androgen receptors and cause a partial reversal?

- lovely, lovely sarcasm
- an aggressive standing for my beliefs
- some random bullshit posts (not excessive)
- a spiteful tongue to those who deserve it
- apologies or congratulations where necessary
- my perverted and twisted humour
- excellent grammar, spelling and paragraph structure
- about 2 hours per work day browsing and posting on this forum
- about 155 posts in approximately 2 months

your balding as well, thats why you were here.

Cursing others to be bald isn't smart in a hair loss forum.

You don't have to use big 3 if you dont want to, but it helps many. Have a nice day!
