Tried to buzz my head... + bad news

Today was one of the days I really got totally depressed because of my current situation (not just hair) and took the clippers and tried it. However, i totally failed and i quit before i finished anything. It now looks like crap but not too obvious that I tried it myself... Next hairdresser-visit is going to be emberassing.

However, that's not the main problem.
I've lost a lot of hair. My hairline is what you'd see as a Norwood 3, and ALL the hair on the top of my head has thinned. Man, i really wish i could just get back on propecia and care less about all thle things, but my gyno/estrogene lvl wasn't worth it. You can really see those horsehoe outlines, damn.

Can't use nizoral as it causes scalp irritation and bimples for me. Besides i also have folliculitis on the back on my head, which really sucks.

Been on my current regimen for 3 months now, no results to share.

hmm why not just finish the job? I honestly don't know how I look with a shaved head but in my mind I think I look good. I don't know if that makes sense to you. What I wanna say is you might think you look bad but in reality you might not.

I've buzzed it before (about 1 cm) and I really have a nice head shape, however, I have the biggest head you can imagine. And I don't mean the IBM or hatprisoner big head, I REALLY mean it. European hat size 62.

The last time I buzzed it I got weird comments and i was tald i look much older than before... That really sucked.

lol I don't think your head can be bigger then mine, I use a size 7 7/8 hat size. I don't know what number that would be in euro size but its pretty much the biggest you can get. I think they make an 8 but I always see them smaller that that at stores.

Did you get a blood test when you were on propecia, and the results weren't good? Can you just fill me in on what happened here?

Yeah, sure. I've taken blood tests so I can prove that something was not right. I'm 20.

On finasteride for 3 months:

- Estradiol: 81,6 pg/ml (Referenzbereich: 11,6-41,2) ****

- Testosteron: 8,01 ng/ml (Referenzbereich: 2,40-8,27)

Bloodwork 3 months after quitting:
- TSH (basal): 4,260 uU/ml (0,270-4,200) ***

- Testosteron: 4,43 ng/ml (2,40-8,27)
- Estradiol: 29,2 pg/ml (11,6-41,2)

- Prolactin: 12,55 ng/ml (2,10-17,70)
- follicle stimulating (?) hormone: 2,1 (1,4-18,1)

Bloodwork ca. 5 months after quitting

- TSH (basal): 2,320 uU/ml (0,270-4,200)
- free T4: 1,61 (0,97-1,80)
- T-3: 130,6 (80,0 - 200,0)
- AK gg. Thyroidea mier. Ag.: 10,3 (0,0 - 34,0)

- Testosteron: 6,91 ng/ml (2,40-8,27)
- Estradiol: 43,1 pg/ml (11,6-41,2) ***

- Prolactin: 14,01 ng/ml (2,10-17,70)
- follicle stimulating (?) hormone: 2,6 (1,4-18,1)

=========================================
Bloodwork NOW (16.02.2009), 13 months after quitting finasteride:

- IgE (Proteindiagnostik): 149,70 lU/ml (0,00 - 100,00) ***

- TSH (basal): 5,180 uU/ml (0,270-4,200) ***
- free T4: 1,29 (0,97-1,80)
- T-3: 128,5 (80,0 - 200,0)
- AK gg. Thyroidea mier. Ag.: 12,2 (0,0 - 34,0)

- Testosteron: 6,29 ng/ml (2,40-8,27)
- Estradiol: 54,3 pg/ml (11,6-41,2) ***

- Prolactin: 16,25 ng/ml (2,10-17,70)
- follicle stimulating (?) hormone: 3,0(1,4-18,1)

======================================

I'm not to sure about this now. My TSH isn't good, same goes for estrogene and prolactin. At least testosterone is in normale range.

Your testosterone was higher when you were on finasteride, is that normal? I was under the impression it lowered testos...?

Your estrogen is pretty high again 13 months after as well... Wonder why that is.

What was the doctor's point of view on it all?

Most doctors don't have a clue about anything.

Yes, it's normal that you have a slight higher testosterone lvl. However, mostly estrogene lvls increase that much that you still get those side effects. I'm still full of estrogene which sucks.

We've been through this subject before, I even measured my head for you and posted in another thread. If I remember correctly, my head is 61cm. Your head is 1cm bigger than mine, so what???

I've known only one person who had a large head and really looked ugly. It wasn't his head that made him ugly, it was the whole package. With some people, you just know they don't make an effort to look good.

ali, whats your problem? I only explained why shaving isn't a good option for me. I'm not trying to repeat myself all the time.

Did I make it sound like I was coming on too strongly???

My sincere apologies... The point I was trying to make, a bit head doesn't necessarily make you look ugly...

I know what you mean. I can't shave either, and I don't have a big head at all. And it's shaped ok.
Skin+razor=NASTY.
Just doesn't work for me. Can't even really shave my face.
