tricomin and spironolactone?

Hello --

I've been using 5% minoxidil and 5% spironolactone cream for several months now and have been very happy with the results (less shedding and even some regrowth). Unfortunately, it seems like my body's developed a distaste for minoxidil and I've been getting some uncomfortable side effects (chest pains, shortness of breath, etc.).

So I'm looking to drop the minoxidil from my regimen. I'm not into popping pills, so Propecia is out. As a result, I'm looking for some other all-topical regimens. Has anyone had any success with Tricomin and spironolactone together? I used to use Tricomin, but I dropped it for the Minoxidil because of the cost and the general feeling that Minoxidil worked better.

So what do you guys think? Can Tricomin and spironolactone at least help keep the hair I have? Is there anyone out there who's had some success with these two products?

Thanks!

Have you tried switching to Rogaine Foam? That version seems to have less side effects for people and it leaves significantly less of a mess. Moreover, the foam seems to be the most effective form of minoxidil available.

I havent used Tricomin before, but I use spironolactone though. Thus far, it's been a successful regimen for me. But I'm only close to 2 months with using minoxidil, and close to 1 month in using spironolactone. So although I'm seeing results, I still have to wait another 2-4 months or even longer before I can really say.

RadioRaheem--

Thanks for the post -- I've thought about using the foam, but I don't think they sell it in my country (Canada). Do you think it's easy to apply even if you still have a relatively significant amount of hair?

Maybe if I can figure out some way to order it, I'll drop the minoxidil I have now and use Tricomin and spironolactone until the foam comes in the mail.

I dunno. All of this is pretty frustrating.

Well, I'm not sure since I only apply it to my temples. But Rogain Foam is very easy to apply, which is another reason why it's superior to the liquid version. And it dries very fast -- literally in minutes, leaving no grease or mess. It should be okay even if you have to apply it to a lot of your hair/scalp... Try eBay and some other online shops.
