I guess this a bit of a follow on from http://www.hairlosstalk.com/discussions ... hp?t=28999 and i've tweaked my routine a bit, I think this is one I can finally live with!
Self Made Topicals:
Minoxidil 5% 60ml-
7.5mg finasteride (1.5 x proscar tablet)
200mg caffeine (2 x no-doz tablet)
Bourbon 60ml-
600mg procyanidins (8 x Grape Seed Forte 12000mg)
200mg zinc (with b6, 8 x tablet)
Schedule:
Morning-
Minoxidil mix
sealed with Folligen
Afternoon-
5% spironolactone (sparingly! not much left..)
Night-
Minoxidil mix
Bourbon mix
sealed with 20% Azelaic Acid acne cream
The caffeine seems to quite promising to counter-act the effect of testosterone (seeing how it's been shown to kill!), and it's cheap to add and I've managed to dissolve it into minoxidil (some floating filler aside). The folligen is cheap and lasts a life time, whether it has the correct "peptides", who knows. It's cheap!
Sprio I'm using because I still have some left. I ditched it for a while because I thought it wasn't doing a thing after I quit finastered, but it's quite possible that it is simply not very strong. Evidence is surfacing that it upregulates estrogen as well as being an androgen blocker.. probably wasn't a good idea to take this one alone with just minoxidil a few months back.
Bourbon has been shown to contain some "phytoestrogens", but its just a bonus if it actually does anything - its just a dissolving base! The procyanidins seem to be promising, and the tablets dissolved well into the bourbon. The zinc is there for the hell of it! Shown in vitro to work.. bonus if it actually does. Finally, sealed in with some Azelaic acid..
While this obsession with sealing things in? Apparently finasteride takes some time to bind to 5ar, so you'll want to slow the absorption of the minoxidil mixture as much as possible. Extra bonus if they do anything!
You must let the minoxidil dry slightly (5minutes) at night before adding the bourbon mixture, because the garpe seed extract will bind and inactivate caffeine. Also, I can't be sure whether other chemicals are somehow reacting to each other.. but I'm going to take my chances!
