Topicals and Systematic Absorbtion

It seems that every topical I have ever used has caused a side effect. Does anyone know a way to use topical hairloss products without having causing these problems? It would be nice to actually use a product for once.

Are you putting them on a dry scalp? Like..if you washed your hair..have you waited a good half hour or so before applying the topical?

I'd be curious to know which ones you've tried..as I can't imagine a lot of "natural" ones being a problem.

Yeah, I put them on a dry scalp so I don't know how I'm getting these side effects.

Okay, the topicals that I've used where I've gotten side effects from:

Revivogen
Minoxidil
Apple Poly.
Tricomin
Peter Lamas Scalp system
Dermatopoetin
spironolactone.
Stimucap
Green Tea topical from Elsom

Hell, I'm even getting problems from using Andalou shapmoo. Everytime I use one of these topicals my eyes start to get red, irritated, sore, etc. It always seeems to be my eyes. Sorry for the rant. I'm just running out of products to try.

Wow..do you remember what kind of side effect you were getting from each one? That is crazy every one of those would bother you.

The Apple Poly, Stimucap, Triocomin, Green Tea, Andalou Shamoo, Dermatopoetin all cause problems. Revivogen and spironolactone actually caused Gyno. to form. The Gyno acuually started when I took finasteride. and when ever I used an anti-androgen the gyno would form.

I guess problems isn't the right word. I get eye pain/discomfort/sore/etc. It's always the eyes no matter what I use. I saw an opthamologist and they couldn't find anything wrong with me. I have a feeling that the eye symtoms are related to using Minoxidil somehow. I've been using it for 10 years now. I might stop it and see if it helps. If not I might even see a dermatologist to find out what's wrong.

That makes more sense..that you've been using minoxidil all this time. I was about to ask you to try just plain water and see if that bothers you :woot:

I wouldn't be surprised if water caused me problems, too. I think I will stop minoxidil. for a while to see how that goes, but I don't see how that could cause me problems with other topical products.

Does anyone else have these symptoms like I do?

I'm still having eye problems after using topicals. Does anyone know if there's a specialist I could see that help me with this? Is it possible I have some other illness that is causing these side effects?

I apologize if these questions are annoying, but I'm just getting fed up with not being able to use anything for my hairloss.
