So Ive been using topical 5% spironolactone for around 5 years - 2 times a a day. I never noticed anything going on side wise but today I was looking at my nipples and
I noticed they are slight bigger than they used to be - files attached. They feel ok, i don't feel anything strange, no sourness.
I also started lifting very heavy weights at the gym for around a year but I don't take anything except Serious Mass which is bassically protein shake with 1g of creatine. I actually take less than one serving so it's less than 1g of creatine. I also gained muscle mass.
Does that look like early stage of gyno?

I had blood test a few months ago and everything was fine.
I noticed when I wake up in the morning my nipples are much smaller, then when it walk around a little bit they get large. It could be something with the blood blow. Also, when I lay on my back they get smaller.

Hi Rcom440 , I remember your posts from the first day I was searching on hairloss forum.
I really don't see anything man , not in my eyes at least.
You use the spironolactone for 5 years and I think it doesn't make sense to get side after this 5 years and with topical form.
But experts may know better.
Just to make sure , You didn't get any regrowth from that right? It just saved your hair?

Hi there Parsia,
Yeah I've been using spironolactone for over 5 years and to be honest I didn't noticed any side effects from it. Yesterday I decided to look at my niples and they seemed bigger than they used to be long time ago. It's not that I have feminine looking chest but just larger nipples. It could be related to the fact that I've been working out and my chest increased in size. I used to have 41" chest, now it's 45".
When it comes to spironolactone, it works. It didn't regrow hair but it will slow down hairloss.
I'm also on 5% minoxidil liquid once a day, Folligen (copper peptides), nizoral and occasional azelaic acid cream which I don't believe do anything.

If you had gyno it would change the shape of your entire breast, not just the nipple.

Basically, show us your tits or gtfo

That's what I thought. No need to show my entire breasts, they are fine.
I was just curious about nipples - they got larger. I'm not sure how early stage of gyno looks like.

Thanks rcom440 , I wish you the best , and Yes I think it maybe from your fitness program ,
I also thought its a before and after pic but then I noticed I did a mistake , By the way I still don't think its spironolactone side effect . Just my 2 cents .
Its very good that spironolactone works for you in the last 5 year ,Whenever I decide to start the spironolactone I refer to you and then It motivates me. I have lots of memory from your picture also , Since I was just browsing forum and see your pic everywhere,
at first I thought he was a actor or sth , but then I noticed it was you !!! you look like 70's people in this pic , thats my favorite movie timeline,
Whenever I decide to start the spironolactone I refer to you and then It motivates me.
Its great to talk with you finally and I wish you the best for your health and hairloss also .

That's so kind of you. I wish you the best too.
And yes I agree with you, I don't think I have side effects from spironolactone. I've been using it for a long time and I never noticed anything strange going on.

How do you apply your spironolactone in the day rcom? I'm also going S5, but having a hard time applying it for my day as I have somewhat longer hair at the moment and it can make it a mess to style, especially since you don't want to apply the cream to a wet scalp to prevent systemic absorption.

And over 5 years have you noticed anything sides wise? I do have to say when I first started using it I was applying way too much as I had a buzzed head at he time and definitely noticed the diuretic effect with frequent bathroom visits and some nasty hangovers, but nothing else. And why no finasteride?

Well, in the morning wash you hair, wait till your hair and scalp get dry then apply a thin layer of spironolactone cream only to the areas where you are thinning. Then wain around 15 min, spironolactone should get absorbed very quickly if you apply just a thin layer. Then style your hair.
I noticed when you apply just a little bit it doesn't make your hair greasy.

Since you have longer hair you need to make sure you are applying spironolactone directly on the scalp and not your hair.

I noticed that it's quite difficult to apply s5 on wet scalp. It seems that it doesn't stick and it's hard to spread around. And to be honest I woudnt apply any topical on a wet scalp.
I've read about frequent urination while on spironolactone. All you can do is to decrease dosage and see how it goes. I think if you don't overuse it those sides should eventually stop. Also don't scratch your scalp with a comb before applying s5.
