I have been a pretty decent responder to minoxidil and I want to add finasteride. I am too afraid of the oral kind and I wanted an opinion on how my regimen would be with topical finasteride. Also, what about the finasteride molecule differs from minoxidil? Why would it go more systemic in a topical than minoxidil?

I should also note that I was clinically hypothyroid and I have been on T4 replacement for 2 months now. Hopefully in 5 months hair starts sprouting everywhere. Thanks guys.

If you still doing well on minoxidil and taking T4 what's the rush?

Id say give it a few more months.

topical finasteride is beautiful, i just really hope it works and im not smearing it on my head for nothing. Not one side effect to report of and im still getting the effect of clean skin on my face, no pimples, so it must be doing something. What i hated was when i got off oral finasteride i started getting some acne again, not much but that rare 1 or 2 pimples on my face and they bothered me. I only take finasteride twice a week at .5 and maybe ingest a .25 here and there on my off days. I hope the topical can maintain what i have cause i dont feel any sides right now, so im really hoping for the best.

Pavi, you still have a good head of hair man, you'd be a perfect person to test out the effectiveness of topical finasteride. Unfortunately im so close to nw3 that i cant really afford not ingesting some finasteride orally.

I Def noticed a soreness in my chest, my nipples were also a bit pointier than usual. But if ur getting real gyno you'll def feel it. It's weird cause I don't have gyno anymore but since I started taking finasteride less frequently I've noticed my chest is flatter. I think the minor raise in estrogen could puff up some people's chests without creating glandular tissue.

Hey guys, on the topical finasteride:

I emailed H&W clinic last week and got a response today. Their liposomal finasteride topical seems to be already available for Canadian residents. They said all I would have to do is get the prescription signed by my doctor and faxed to them and they would mail a 3 month supply to my house.

I also asked how much a 3-month supply would cost: CAD$ 255.
