To make a long story short I have been on Propecia for 8 years. It is no longer working as well as it used to, and may not be working at all anymore?? I have decided to finally start a topical solution. I am 34 now. Any thoughts?? I am think spironolactone over monix. I have full coverage but just very thin.

Monix - seems to be the popular choice but am afraid of initial shedding
spironolactone - seems to work well without as much shedding
Folligen - I have tried and can't say it worked well
Revivogen - there is a full bottle of shamp & Cond under my sink that I never tried. Will probably give this a shot and see what happens.

I am looking for people who have tried things. If you could rank the order of effectiveness of things you used I would really appreciate it.

I have also used Nano ( didn't like it ) and use nizoral 2%. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

rogaine is your best bet. shed is only a temporary inconvenience.
you may want to go back to using finasteride daily

oops that's oudated. I take a 1/4 tablet everyday and no topicals at all except T-SAL once a week..... The every other day thing was an experiment and I notices alot of shedding when I started doing that. Again, it just may be the hair cycle this time of year my hair seems to always look worse than any other time of year.. which is why I start panicking.. come September or so... al of a sudden I am rejuvinated because my hair starts to look good again...

Just the trial and tribulations of losing your hair LOL!

my advice stick with the propecia and add some rogaine foam and nizoral twice a week 3 times if your scalp can handle it.

I'd add min foam. I was on Propecia for five years and maintained for quite a while but then I noticed it was thinning more.

So then you started the minoxidil foam?? Did it work?

to be honest adding minoxidil is not really addressing the issue here. You should add minoxidil for regrowth but it doesn't block dht which is your problem since Propecia isn't working anymore. So I sugges minoxidil foam twice a day and then add a topical dht blocker at night (foam in evening). The best topical dht blocker available to us at present is Eucapil or Revivogen. As for your shampoo comment - you should be using decent shampoos regardless of what regimen you are on. I rotate Nizoral with the Min range.

Propecia doesnt "stop" working.
