Hi,

I am a 22 year old from India using minoxidil 5% and propecia (1mg) .I usually do head bath once in 4 days.I dread doing head bath bcoz I see lot of hair coming out.But my scalp itches if I do not do it.

So I am thinking of tonsuring my head ...so that I cannot see any hair coming off. Also while combing my hair...I am seeing some hair coming off. Also I am always thinking of my hair these days...so I feel by tonsuring my head I will be able to concentrate on other works. Also it will be apply minoxidil on atonsured head.

Now my question is does tonsuring...result in any bad effects regarding the hair... I mean like decreasing diameter of the hair shaft that is going to regrow??Is it a good option??

tonsuring?...you mean shaving?...
shaving will have no effect on your regrowth. wont make it better, wont make it worse. male pattern baldness will do that. if you have long hair its difficult to apply minoxidil so theres an advantage for you. once you've shaved your head applying it uniformly will be easier.

Use nizoral for irritation. Use it 3 times a week. Let it sit on the scalp for 5 minutes.

From wikpedia:

Tonsure is the practice of some Christian churches of cutting the hair from the scalp of clerics as a symbol of their renunciation of worldly fashion and esteem. There were three forms of tonsure known in the seventh and eighth centuries: (1) The Oriental, which claimed the authority of St. Paul and consisted in shaving the whole head. This was observed by churches owing allegiance to Eastern Orthodoxy.
