Has anyone actually experienced temple regrowth with spironolactone without finasteride/dutasteride? I'm really depressed about my hair lately. I'm still having sides from finasteride, and I think my hairline may have thinned out more. I worry I'm developing gyno, although it may be just paranoia. I'm hearing more and more people talk about it. My chest looks fine, but I've been feeling slight aches in it from time to time. This may also be because I've never paid such close attention to my chest before. I haven't been on finasteride that long. Anyways, I'm still trying to get an idea of how credible topical spironolactone really is. I'm trying to regrow some hair on the hairline, although I feel if I want a chance, I need finasteride, and even with it I feel my chances are crap. I'd hate to get a bunch of permanent sides just so I can keep losing hair. I'm thinking I should buzz it or something, but I'm so used to having long hair. Could I regrow with just spironolactone, minoxidil, and nizoral?

Yes, you can regrow with just topical spironolactone, minoxidil, and nizoral. In fact, I'm only using this regimen specifically in the temples. Since that's my only area of hair loss. So far, I've been on it for 2-3 months and have experienced some regrowth already. My temples are definitely better than before. I'm a Norwood 1.5 at the moment, but coming closer and closer to a 1. I'm hoping things continue to progress to where I'm back to normal. :)

In my opinion, I'd try spironolactone, minoxidil, and nizoral first, BEFORE trying finasteride if you are experiencing hair loss only in the temple region and the hair loss wasn't that aggressive (slowly thinned gradually over time).

the chances of permanent sides are so low there just not worth worrying about. same with gyno. stick with what youre doing and cross that bridge if you come to it.

My biggest concern is that I won't be able to afford crossing that bridge. If I did get gyno, surgery would be thousands of dollars. I heard like .5% of guys got it in the proscar tests, and that was 5mg. Does the dose make that big a difference? If I'm getting sides from such a low dose, could that mean it takes less to grow hair too, or would it just mean my body reacts differently?

I thought you start getting nipple pain for a few months first and THEN you start developing gyno?

I could imagine nipple pain is the result of breast growth(gyno)
