Hey all, I've been on finasteride for about 4 years, minoxidil for much longer, derma needling for about 18 months and a load of other stuff too that ain't worth mentioning. Something has changed recently (7 months ago) and my hair has started to fall out rapidly and visually you can clearly see the affected areas. Because of this I'm firstly thinking of switching to dutasteride (I have made another thread about this) and secondly I am finally seriously looking into hair transplants. So, my question is, is a hair transplant actually a viable option when your hair is actually falling out? As in, if you can't seem to stabilise or stop your hair loss? Has anybody gone through with a transplant whilst at the same time going through actual hair fall and what were your experiences? I feel like the answer is obvious and that it's just gonna be a waste of money on a lost cause, but I just wanna hear your guys thoughts as I'm still not ready to come to terms with this.
I should also add that I have diffused thinning which I have heard is a bit of a nightmare for hair transplant surgeons anyway.
I'll fire some pictures up as soon as I can so you can see what I'm dealing with.
Thanks, James.
