I have noticed that by using minoxidil small thin hairs are grown but how do you thicken those? or do they always remain that way?

I think it varies from person to person.

I've had large areas of vellus (small thin hairs) which have been seemingly dormant for a year or two only to then begin to grow and thicken.

They get thicker after each cycle.Dont worry too much and lose hope in it.If you dont have any side effects, its the best regrowth product out there.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not worried about it as i have only recently started applying minoxidil(about 5 weeks now)so i am glad that i can see something there, albiet using a magnifying mirror ,but it has given me some hope?
I was just wondering if there is something else that i could use topically that would speed up the thickening?
Thanks again!

I guess you should just give MIN alone some time to work. There are people here who would recommend Tricomin and Revivogen but I would say dont get on any of these for a while or at least till you feel MIN isn't doing much for you.

I asked Dr. Lee about this a while ago. He said it is definitely possible to regrow vellus looking hairs with proper treatments. But it will take a few hair cycles for them to thicken. Which means: don't expect results in 3-6 months, you're going to need to be very patient.

Patience is a virtue they say so i guess i will have to learn to be patient :woot:
I will maybe give the retin a and copper peptides a try after some more research!

They take a while to thicken like others have said.

if ur treatment is working you will start to see the hairline ones thicken up first, then fill out.

think of it as a forest thats had a crazy lumberjack chopping down trees and thinning the forest out, takes a while for the new trees to grow up:).

iv been using the eye lash thickening stuff on my hairline for around a week, thats the crazy expensive tinly little bottle, ill give that a go and see if it does anything.l

take finasteride, nizoral and min, these are the true hair growers, the rest will just assist a little with limited results.

Regarding the copper peptides i have seen some of the liquid on ebay.
Would i be able to mix it with the minoxidil or would it be ok to mix with jojoba oil?

Depends on what type you buy. Many people like to use Folligen and apply emu oil afterwards. Some use Tricomin as is.

I prefer Folligen, but be warned it can be messy, especially if used with emu oil, so only apply at night.
