I recently bought some generic minoxidil from Walgreens because a 3 month supply was on sale for $20, and this crap is taking forever to dry. I applied it at 9 PM last night, and when I went to bed at 10:15, it still wasnt dry. Is this normal?

Yeah... mine took a while aswell...

Watch the posts flow in now about Dr Lees #500 or watever... people think its the bomb.

Personally i stopped taking minoxidil after 6 weeks, not because of the drying factor, but because it was ruling my day and making me analyse EVERY hair on my head. It reduced the quality of my hair and the thought of commitment to use it EVERY day for the rest of my life at just 25 years old was stressing me out... i almost fell into a bout of depression and massive self consciousness...

f*****g minoxidil is all i can say....

yes the generic versions are kinda greasy and can take a while to dry. Thats why I switched to using it once per day last summer and it has seemed to do quite well in retaining what I have gained. you can always switch to Dr. Lee's forumla which is supposed to dry in 15 minutes or less.

Why don't you just apply it before you go to sleep and forget about it? Or do you have other topicals that you apply after the minoxidil has dried?

Melbs, guessing your from Melbourne Australia? I'm an aussie too!

Anyway, your heaps different to me, I dread taking propecia because of the potential side effects (and the disclaimer/warning i got from my doctor). I love putting rogaine in ! I only do it once a day, but it gives me such a satisfying feeling like I'm doing something for my head. It's definately not a chore at all so I guess we all feel different about it.

Think positive when your putting it in like you KNOW it must be doing something because its going on your head..

Wezz, you're wrong, it works VERY well. You just have to be applying it correctly and religiously...and be a responder. Most people are.

Well, you should be applying twice per day. However, I do believe its effectiveness is around 30% at regrowing hair. Is this really effective? I guess so because at least you have a 30% chance of regrowing some hair. It is more effective at slightly thickening your hair and maintaining what you have.

Yeah thats the problem - I have toi wait for it to dry before I can put my folligen on. I knew about Dr. Lee's sh*t, but this $20 for 3 month supply was too hard to pass up.
