That is why FUE is the way of the future and strip should be obsolete.

I really believe strip should be phased out. It is very traumatic and outdated with today's medical advances. FUE although not perfect yet should be considered first.

Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for FUE, and the cost is very prohibitive.

Strip is easier to do especially for the doctor and the staff. I remember I once consulted a consultant from a clinic who does both strip and FUE, I emailed him I was NW2 (without pics). He said immediately that I was not a good candidate for FUE, and I should do strip. Well...

I consulted another clinic, and the dr said well, doing strip is just plain lazy... get a strip, extract hair, transplant them. Finished. Although the word lazy might have been too much, he has a point.

My personal opinion only.

BTW, I saw that scene from "Lost" -- the guy looks good with shaved or buzzed hair, it was a mistake to do strip if he plans to shave his head in the future.

Watch the complete episode and you will clearly see that he is a norwood 6 at least.

PD: I knew someone was going to come with that point.. Why are the replies so obvious in this forum?

i dont see how you can say that.

you get more viable hairs per area of skin removed with strip.

a good surgeon can make the scar basically invisible.

for anyone who needs a lot of grafts FUE will not be the better cosmetic option scar wise, it will look like you took a shotgun blast to the back of the head.

if you are just getting a bit of teh hairline filled in, FUE may be better choice.

for a big rebuild, strip is by far the better option.

Who is the chic in the flic? Anyway at least it is a slim linear scar.... looks like a crease in the head. Don't know what the top yielded though. I wonder why they did not edit that out or at least make-up it.

What exactly is wrong with this scar? The guy is bic shaved! with about 1cm length of hair this srac would be virtually undetectable.
And powersam is right Fue is not an option in many cases.
