Thinning Temples, Male Pattern Baldness At 22

Im 22 and am noticing lots of thinning on my temples and density lost on top and clumps of hair each timr i take a shower, i recently went to the dermatologist and he recommended me rogaine 5% liquid but he told me i might not need it at this point and try to hold out for a couple more years than use it. Just looking for advice from people who have used it and do the baby hairs i have right now grow back thicker again since they are still there? My hair to me is honestly so damn important and i dont want to get to the point where i think back and say i should've started it earlier, thank you in advance!(also my old posts i posted on here date back each a year from one another and you can see how much better my hair was)

Forsure man appreciate your input, but i will stick with it 110% because i want good hair in my early 20’s, and eventually want to get a hair transplant when im 25 or 26 since rogaine will only work if i use it forever ,then i want to get off it at that point your opinion?

Hair transplant without a hair loss prevention treatment is futile. Very often patients with hair transplant absolutely need a side treatment for prevention and maintenance. It all depends on the rate and extent of your hair loss. Also, once you start minoxidil, you are kinda trapped w it because you may experience sheds (that can be scary) both when starting and when/if you decide to stop it.
