Thinning sides

Hey everyone,

I had a quick question. I am on month 2 of propecia and nizoral and 3 weeks on rogaine. I expect some shedding up top, but the other day I ran my hand through the side of my hair when dry and found some shedding there. I'm not too worried, but I thought it was much harder to lose hair on the sides early on, especially cause I still have a lot of hair and non-experts would never guess I have male pattern baldness. I'm 22 and was just wondering if anybody had a similar situation. Thanks for your help.

When you shed you can lose it all over. Just bear it out!

I saw my dermatologist and he noticed that my hair falls out quite easily from the sides as well. He indicated it was a sign that my hair loss is not entirely genetic, and that I have some deficiencies. I need to see him again for him to tell me what the solution is, but he seemed to suggest this should give me hope that a few adjustments can reduce my hairloss and improve the quality of my hair. Perhaps this is the case with you as well, because the sides do not have anagen receptors and should for the most part be healthy and not fall out easily. I don't have any answers yet but if you PM me sometime in the next few weeks I will be happy to let you know what the derm said.

Best of luck bro.

I was just going to say that hair loss on the sides is NOT typical as that is part of the horseshoe area and for most, impervious to loss.

Thanks for the input everyone. Yeah if you could let me know what your dermatologist says I would appreciate it. I think that overall my hairloss is probably genetic as my propecia prescriber thought it was and I do have a lot of bald men in my family. Not my father though(when I was young I thought I was fine because of this, not the case unfortunately).
