Thinning on front of hairline?

I noticed that the hairs on the very front of my hair line are a bit thinner and shorter than some of my other hair. They might have always been like this because I normally push my hair up so I can't see them. Tell me what you think. I am a little worried it is thinning out, my dad went bald. Could this be early thinning? Or is it normal for some hairs in the front to be different?

Your hairline looks strong although it may be just starting to recede--its impossible to tell. It is natural for thinner hairs to occupy the first 1/8" or so of the hairline. Keep an eye on it though and start treatment if you start getting sure signs of male pattern baldness. If your dad went bald then there is a good chance you will have some degree of androgen-induced hair loss as a young man but that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be as bald as him. Having a bald father should put any young man who cares about his hair on a heightened alert for hair loss. I think you'll be just fine since you are already being vigilant.

Where can I get a test for my hair? It seems like its been the same for two monthes now but I dont know. A test could really help me. How do I get one?

You can look into a hairdx test but it is expensive and not 100% accurate. You are almost surely not going to go through life as a thick Norwood 1 but that doesn't mean you're headed from a full-fledged Norwood 7 like your father. Whatever happens will happen. Just be vigilant and get on finasteride asap if surefire signs of male pattern baldness emerge. You'll be okay if you stay on top of it.

I have heard about finasteride but it really scares me. I don't think its the best idea at my age. I think it has the potential to seriously mess me up. I don't want to trade in one problem for another. Is there anything else that has worked well for others?

How old are you? If you're under 18 then you're not supposed to take it, that's correct. You don't need to start treatments IMO especially if you're not thinning in the crown. finasteride and dutasteride and spironolactone really are the only type of drug that will actually do something to interfere with the balding process.

I am almost 18 about 4 months to go. I do not think I have a balding crown yet if anything. I am just concerned that my hair is gradually thinning just 5 months ago I never once thought about hair loss ever, now its always on my mind. I just wish I could know what my hair will look like in one year

This is my crown hopefully it is normal
