Thinning in the front, what should I do?

First of all, I'm pretty darned impressed with this site and the forums. What a lot of great information! In fact, it's a bit overwhelming. I've read through some threads and checked on different treatment regimens, but I feel the need to go ahead and ask my question in the forums anyway.

I'm at about stage 2, on the scale, with all my thinning and loss coming from the temples and front of my head. Is there any way to get this hair back? minoxidil disclaimers and dermatoligists seem to point out that it only helps return hair at the vertex and toward the back, not the front. I understand that Propecia will stop further hair loss (hopefully), but is there any way to get back this hair in the front and at the temples? The hair is not really receeding as much as thinning, losing a lot of density, specifically over the last four months or so. It's become very noticable. A lot more of my scalp is showing through up front than even a year ago. Is there anything I can do to regain this hair, or will I just have to start Propecia and do what I can to keep what I have left? Any help or advice is very much appreciated, even if it's just to tell me where to go and look for answers. I also apologize if I posted this question in the wrong forum. Rather new at this. :)

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on this - my hair is in similar state and in panic I got some Revivogen. Been on this about 3 weeks and have shed loads of hair, BUT you read experts opinions and this is apparently a good sign, and a nice big fat hair will grow through. HAS THIS ACTUALLY EVER HAPPENED TO ANYONE?

Sometimes I wish i'd never started a treatment and let it drop out when mother nature intended.

From what i've learned from reading these forums, I think if you want to maintain what your hair looks like now, you'd had to have started on Propecia a year or more ago. So now you will lose a bunch more hair, then regain a minimal amount...and thats if it works for you.

no you're WRONG foeplay! People can regrow a CRAPLOAD more hair on just Propecia alone. Propecia CAN do alot more than just (maybe) maintain your current hair. Some people are selling finasteride very short just because it didnt work for them.

Really?

I did not know you could regrow hair with finasteride. I thought it simply claimed to stop hairloss. I would sure be glad to know if other folks have had luck with regrowing with finasteride. I don't mean to incite a heated debate or anything, but if anyone has had regrowth, specifically in the front and temples, I would be most glad to know about it and what regimen was used to achieve these results.

I don't look forward to losing another year's worth of hair before it stops, but I suppose it'll be better than just continuing to lose indefinitely. I'll try talking with my GP and see if I can get a prescription for Propecia, since I have some insurance coverage there. Not sure insurance would cover that sort of medication, but I probably can't afford the stuff otherwise. Trying to keep hair on your head be SPENSIVE! :(

Thanks for the responses. I really do appreciate the information and I'm glad there are folks I can ask about this. :)
