thinning hairs

Hi guys,

i have been on minoxidil 2% ( 1 time ed) for 1 year with no results, in november2015 i started finasteride 1mg, in january 2016 i switched minoxidil 2% to 5%,

i used minoxidil 5% for 3 weeks and while a big shedding i quit it.

Now my hairs looks thin, specially on the left side, when 3 moths ago was all thicker.

in october i used t3 for 4 weeks, now my tyroid is ok but the examen evidence i am anemic.

the thinning hairs was cause i stopped minoxidil?, could be a Telogen Effluvium cause t3 medication used in the past or it's just that my hairs are damage by dht? or anemic condition ?

Your hair could have thinned out a bit for quitting Minoxidil, which wasn't the best thing to do. Minoxidil helps to maintain already existing terminal hair, not just regrow what's been lost. Definitely stay on Finasteride, that treatment is crucial for treating baldness.

But honestly, your hair looks decent. It looks like there may be some thinning at the hairline but it's hard to conclude with the angle of the picture you provided. It also looks like there may have been some kind of change of texture in your hair, which can be caused by balding, use of Minoxidil, or a combination of both. It's very unlikely that any of your hair loss has been from being anemic.

I quit minoxidil because i was very scared with the shedding. yes the hairs change texture ,they are more skinny and shorter now. What can i do to get them thick again?

Thx for your help guys. I will wait 1 month until start with minoxidil because i want to see if with iron supply it will grow more strpnger..

Also i want to ask, a surgery can make it thick again ?
