Thinner hair and peach fuzz on the foam just under a month

As the title says, I got thinner hair (I'm guessing this is from shedding) and peach fuzz coming in. I noticed the peach fuzz last night on the temples - these barely noticeable black hairs you have to get up close to see. It's definitely a confidence boost to know something is going on up there. So, I got a few questions:

Shedding = working?

I've always wondered if enough of the foam is reaching the scalp. I have diffuse thinning, and I put the foam all over my head where there is thin hair (NW1-2, maybe 3) and the temples, where there is no hair. When I put the foam on I get a cool sensation on my scalp, and it looks wet for for about a minute. Basically, I'm worried too much foam is staying on the hair. One time I went running a few hours after I put on the foam, and it was like I was sweating Rogaine (on the plus side, for the first time in my life I smelled nice when I sweated). Also, this morning I woke up and it was like I put on hair gel the night before. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

Finally, I NEED a good daily shampoo. I was using VO5 and it made my scalp itch. I initially thought this was the foam, but one day i didn't shampoo and it was gone. I picked up some Pantene Fuller Thicker Hair 2in1 for 8 bucks, and all it does is make my hair poufy and look thinner. I read on these forums that it's good to rotate shampoos, so give me a couple of suggestions.

Thanks again guys - have a good one!

I'm going through a bit of a shed at the moment, which is quite depressing (since I measure my success day to day!) but yeah, it is comforting to see a fair few thin little hairs and peach fuzz popping up on my temples. But then since I do look at my hair some fifty times a day it's hard to tell whether that is new growth, or whether it's my old hair halfway through its demise...

Everyone will go through a shed or two, sometimes pretty badly in the early stages of treatment. I don't think it indicates "working" as such, but if you can see smaller hairs growing where there were none previously that definitely indicates some progress.

I know everyone says it, but I cannot emphasize enough the importance of taking photos at least every month, from similar angles, preferably after a haircut. That way you will be able to tell for sure whether your treatment is working. :wink:

...sorry, I do not have the knowledge or experience to answer your other questions.

I never take photos. No camera. If your hair looks different day to day, it is your standards, or the shaft angles.

I don't notice a difference day to day... I just check my hairline and temples obsessively day to day!!

The only way I can tell if there's a difference is everytime I get a haircut I will spend a good deal of time checking my hair from different angles with two mirrors, looking for areas that are thickening or thinning. Photos definitely help with this, as I have about a month and a half between each haircut... although you should definitely take them in the same place with the same lighting and angles.
