Thinking to start on Propecia and Nizoral....HELP NEEDED!!!!

Hey guyz,
I am 17 years old and since i last year i have suffered from some serious hair loss and after researching for almost for one year i have decided to go on Propecia and Nizoral, but i dont know how good will the results be? On top of that, since last month and a half, i have started using Saw palmetto, a herbal medical used to treat prostate cancer and hair loss as claimed by them, and i havent had good result with it at all. My whole family had this male pattern baldness problem. My Dad is practically bald, my 23 year old brother also started losing his hair around my age, and he is pretty bald too. since i have been on Saw Palmettto, my situation kind of got worse, cuz i have alot of hair loss in the middle and kind of front of my head. I will surely post some pics so u guys could analyze how bad it is. I would just appreciate if people would respond and tell me how should i go with this situation. And lastly, i would like to know if i should purchase Proscar or Propecia, cuz i know the Proscar is cheaper and will last longer then Propecia but in result wise, which is better?

I dont think saw palmetto will do much for your hair loss. Speak to your doctor about starting propecia at 17, but because of family history it seems you have an early onset of male pattern baldness. Start using nizoral from now. If the doctor gives you the all clear for propecia definatly use prosca as it is the same thing but cheaper....

yes saw palmetto will do nothing for your hair loss. this has been debated in great length but that has been the general conclusion. Stop using it! Proscar and propecia are the exact same drug. They are both effective with proscar being much, much cheaper. If you are 17, then you have to decide if now is the time to start using drugs to combat your hairloss situation. 18 and over is the FDA approved age for propecia because of developmental and hormonal reasons. If you are seriously starting to thin then you might want to start propecia, I probably would. If you need a lot of regrowth then you might want to start minoxidil also. It too is available in generic form which can save you a lot of money. Good luck my friend, you have come to the right place.
