I am a diffuse thinner. I have been on Proscar/4 for 6 months and It made my hair much worse than ever.

I really want to quit. Here my options :

1. Keep 1.25mg Finasteride/day Add 0.5mg Dutasteride/day
2. Quit 1.25mg Finasteride/day Start 0.5mg Dutasteride/day
3. Start Topical Anti-Androgens (Spirolactone)
4. Start Minoxidil(Rogaine or Lipogaine)
5. Start Cetirizine Topical
6. Start RU58841 Topical

Any options do you suggest? Need advice and comments please... Which one looks the best?

If it's possible, I would appreciate it if you post a picture of your head at baseline and a picture of your head at 6 months. It would benefit you to get a second opinion on your situation. It is very rare for someone to not even slow down male pattern baldness with finasteride 1.25mg. I'd like to see your results, or lack thereof, and then give you my take on it. Not calling you a liar or anything, it's just better to get a second eye to look at your situation.

Just grow it out! You have great hair, keep taking finasteride until at least the 12 month, THEN, weigh up your options.

Your hair looks great and very thick. Stay on 1.25mg and start Rogaine twice a day.

Honestly, it does not even look like you have male pattern baldness, but you know your hair better than any one else, so I do believe you. But from those pictures I don't see any male pattern baldness at all.

Do you see a lot of hairs on your hand when you shampoo/rub your hair when it's wet? And if you pull it when it is dry, are the hairs easily removed and weak?

What is the company name of the finasteride you use? You say Proscar so that is Mercks? Or do you use generic? If buying generic, aim for manufacturers like Dr Reddy's and Cipla.

Personally I use Dr Reddy's for finasteride and Ranbaxy for Dutasteride.

Have you ever tried minoxidil?

Go for it, switch to avodart/dutasteride and use Rogaine twice a day.

If you can get RU and CB, you should get it. I only recommend it because of what other members say about it, but I have not used it and will not use it until it is easier to get for U.S. baldies. I know that ************* has RU pre-mixed and it actually looks pretty affordable, but it says they don't ship to the U.S., and I don't even know how reputable that site is.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't know that site was blocked. So I guess they are not reputable? m-p-b...treatments.

Which one do you recommend liquid or foam. I have middle long hair liquid looks easier. How about Lipogaine i read a lot of good comments on amazon.com ? Should i start with rogaine or lipogaine?

Other than Amazon comments, I don't know that much about Lipogaine. It seems overpriced and it has some accusations of fake anecdotals on Amazon, they may or may not be false accusations. There are some members here who use it and feel it works. Personally I would not buy it. It is not the cost, but if you look at the cost anyway, it's $25 for one month supply, that is $300 a year. As opposed to the more proven, with actual pictures and years of success, Rogaine at almost half the price at $180 for 12 month supply.

My suggestion would be what I use, Rogaine foam in the day, and Rogaine liquid at night. Or you can just get Kirkland's foam and Kirkland's liquid. I know you are probably like "He just said i'd end up spending more for Lipogaine then suggests I buy both Rogaine foam and liquid". The reason why I do this, and it has been successful 3 weeks in, is because I think using Rogaine foam offsets the itchiness of Rogaine liquid at night. Don't ask why I think this, I just experimented with this, and so far it has worked with zero itchiness.

With that said, you could try lipogaine if you want. I mean I can't tell you to use it, because I have never used it. But it won't hurt to try.
