I konw most of you will say 'no... wait it out'

but i'm losing my hair at an alarming rate while being on propecia for the last 3 months.

i desperately want to keep what i have and i see no other way of keeping it aside using dutasteride as the ultimate inhibitor..

thoughts? suggestions?

jeff wtf are you doing????

By modifying your regimen, you will just prolong the waiting period. This is not the solution. These impulsive jumping around rabbits are a new breed...

I don't know what to tell you besides what is already posted in that sticky in the Success Stories subforum.

Good luck.

I remember being convinced that my loss was so rapid that I'd need only a few more visits to the hairdresser as it would soon be time to accept my fate and shave off whatever feeble strands were left. That was back when I started on finasteride/minoxidil in September 2001 and those thoughts continued for about a year, until it eventually became clear that my loss had been stabilized - I only switched to dutasteride further on when my hairline thinning kicked back in.

Most of the those which had begun to be miniaturized are still there but with the majority of them thinner, shorter and lighter than healthy hairs. As I'm still in the window of regrowth post my dutasteride initiated shed, I can't be sure if they'll grow back stronger over the next few months, or have already achieved their best. Time will tell, and if it's a disappointing result I guess it'll be onto the next treatment for me.

Hello,

i am new here and also thinking about switching.
I am 24 and use 1mg finasteride since Feb 2001. In the first two years i had great success with regrowth even in the front, which is my only problem.
The front was very thin before using finasteride.

The next years my hair kept good, had better times, had worse times, in the winter it was better.

Last summer (2005) my hair got thin in the front again, i still take 1mg finasteride every day. I do not make out much hairloss but it gets thinner in the front.
Since 3 month i use the lasercomb with no success until today, perhaps i have shedding i dont know.

I have already bought 90 pills of avodart, they are waiting to use but the lasercomb came between.
I thought i could have success with it and they say: it can take 3-6 moth.

But i am afraid that is is too late in some month for dutasteride?
I still have about 50 finpecias - should i use them to the end or should i at once start with dutasteride?

I have also a little acne since 2 years - must be from finasteride. Some say, dutasteride is good also against acne.

What sould i do? Should i wait until Jan or start at once with dutasteride?
