Hey guys.
Thinking ahead, I know I'm bound to suffer from baldness.
My father is bald (at about 29 he was married with a nice blad spot on the back of his head) my uncle is, my grandfathers too! Haha, yeah, one learns to live with it. ^^ I really don't think I should take a negative attitude or anything, it's going to happen, but I'll live! (We all will.)
I recently was shedding like mad at 18, it had died down, admittedly I think my hair did a whole "diffuse loss" ever so slightly. I recently had tough exams which pretty much directed my future, 2 months ago, before the sudden shedding. Yes, will now it's died down to a more stable amount. My temples are not receding, or perhaps the very tiny hints of them doing so are present, still, nothing to get worried over just yet. I do not lose much hair in the shower, nor on the pillow any more.
I still would like to prevent baldness happening as much as possible, prolong it at least, so that when it does kick in at full force, hopefully there will be better treatments available; such as hair manipulation, which seems to be a godsend to everyone, even those with crisply shiny heads!
Anyways, as for prolonging it, I've been reading up, and it's come to my attention that Propecia (Finasteride, I recall it being called) seems a very good option for doing such. Do you think it is worth it, seeing that if I do have hairloss, it is in it's early early stages, and that I want to do this more as a preventative measure. I've read that catching it early yields the most success, which would make sense. So my questions :
-feasible?
-should I?
-what can I expect?
-how long can I hope to maintain?
Thank you all for your help, and remember, baldness really is something small and insignificant, in the long run. The way I look at it, you can always shave yer head, and hey, one day we'll ALL be old and wrinkly, and I don't want to fill my life up with nothing but hair, if you get my drift.
Still, preventaion would also be nice. I think if more people knew, we could make it less of a "problem".
Peace out! Thanks for help!
