Thinking About Getting Transplant, How Many Grafts Would I Need?

I'm thinking of getting a transplant but I'd like to know how many grafts I would need if I go with a FUE transplant (is FUT grafts number going to be any different?).


I'm around a NW3. My temples are pretty barren (still handful thin hairs though) and I'm diffusing pretty much all on top (especially the crown and middle, diffusion on a scale of 1-10 is about a 5 or 6). My hair is medium-fine and my back and sides have no thinning as far as I can see.

I was thinking to mainly get grafts to bring down my hairline slightly down maybe 1-2cm and fill in the temple regions and some in the start of my side hair (do they do grafts here? I would like to bring my sides a bit more into my forehead). I was also thinking some for the crown/middle but heard this is a tricky one where the return may not be worth it or even make it worse. I've been on finasteride for 2 years for what it's worth.

It was the only pic I could find that resembled my hair from the side

Do you think that 3000 grafts will be enough to give a good density (btw did your 3k estimate include grafts into the crown)? Is it worthwhile to get ~500-1000 grafts into the crown/middle or is that not a good idea?

Personally I say f*** the crown, grafts are more beneficial visually for hairline/temple points, but it's your preference. You are 36 right so obv not too aggressive with rate of loss, I'd reinforce a thick Norwood 1.5 hairline.

Nah nothing noticeable after 7 months, I'll post pics of final result soon I guess
