So ive been doing a little experiment to figure out the reasoning behind my constant annoying scalp itch / dandruff problem to conclude .... absolutely nothing
. first i tried switching minoxidil brand from kirkland foam to rogaine foam since it does not have the pg in it (no relief). Next i tried taking a break from minoxidil (no use for 5 days at all) my itch did not subside at all still the same ol constant itch. After those 5 days i took a break off finasteride (i really thought it was the finasteride causing the itch due to hyperandg.) which today will make it 9 days of finasteride. I had this itch since december which sort of sprung up on me and really did not give it any thought since ive never had this issue before in my life.. since it did not go away i grew concerned. At this point i care more about this damn itch then my hair, i can not see myself dealing with this much longer. what i noticed about my scalp the dandruff is really only located on my crown area in certain spots although if i scratch my head at any location i can see white flakes away off. ive been on all the shampoos most people would recommend for such issues with no relief. im now experimenting with ru58841 been on for 5 days. i have an appointment with my derm tomorrow although i really dont expect much out of them cause for the most part i don't believe they know much about hairloss and the side effects of different medications. i plan on going on .5mg of finasteride starting tomorrow just because ive been off it for 9 days with no scalp relief and i feel my hair is getting worse (most likely psychological).
what i noticed while being off finasteride (never had a problem with ED on finasteride) i have sex regularly.
ON finasteride 1MG 8 MONTHS : up and downs with libido mostly increased libido, after bustinggggg a nut
it takes me awhile before i want to have sex again (back then would take only 10 mins or so before i was ready to go), watery semen, didn't make any good gains at the gym strength/weight, i was also tired all the time and not motivated (still got things done such as work/gym/school but with really no drive)
OFF of finasteride (9 days) : high libido notice morning wood every morning and at random times during the day which is awkward, semen is thicker/larger load, can have sex multiple times without breaks, i have been making rapid muscle gains.. gained 8lbs in two weeks / strength has increased nicely, my overall mood is better as far as motivation goals and how tired i am throughout the day.
In conclusion: I have no idea what is causing my scalp to itch so damn bad and this dandruff issue is really getting noticeable in the crown making me subconscious. I rather be on finasteride... although my time being off i have felt better "mood wise". i will continue using ru at 5% daily since i already bought this stuff and believe it should help. maybe taking .5mg instead of 1mg will not be harsh on me. im seeing a new derm tomorrow i really hope he knows what hes diagnosing when he looks at my scalp.
btw i did not proof read this
