22 years of age noticed first at 16 but keeos getting thinner now Very thin hair on top no receding at all

If i run my hand through my hair i can see very thin colorless hairs so i have not lost any hair i think but can clearly see my scalp under light

What could have caused this ?

Can it be regrown ?

Been using finasteride and minoxidil for a year but has not improved

For years i have used a fine tooth comb every morning could this have caused it to thin and will it grow back now i have stopped and how long ?

Would i be a candidate for transplant or should i just give up and shave my head ??

If you go into my profile you can see a picture when my hair is wet under direct light

Any help would be great really depressed over this

WOW !!! That is much worse than what I imagined, Looks like you have balded in a female pattern, I would see a hair loss specialist or GP because that isn't normal. As you say that finasteride and minoxidil hasn't worked you either are very sensitive to DHT and so it isn't blocking it well OR Something other health related problem is going on.

That would be enough to send me to the doctors to see if I had a disease. I would make an appointment.

Could it be a thyroid issue ??

Please help

I wouldn't know, The best thing to do is go to the doctors or type in Google "Under active" or "Over active" thyroid symptoms" and have a look to see weather you have any of the symptoms.

Well there could be multiple things wrong

1) Didn't respond to treatment
2) finasteride wasn't strong enough
3) You might be suffering from something other then male pattern baldness

I looked at your profile picture, and it does appear to be extremely thin with a horseshoe pretty much visible. Is your entire head thinning? sides/back as well?

I'd go to a hairloss surgeon and get a accurate diagnosis.
