Thin Hair After It Was Pulled/snagged By Bad Trimmer

4 years ago I decided to shave my head with a beard trimmer my hair was very thick and long, I didn't use any guard and the process was very painful (felt like my scalp was bleeding although it wasn't). I felt my hair being snagged instead of being cut off but I continued anyway. After what happened my hair grew back much thinner in some areas. could the problem be related to nutrition, hygiene, genetics or did snagging my hair like that permanently destroy my hair follicles?

I recently got a buzz cut, could anyone please tell me if I actually have a problem with my hair or am I just being delusional?

Also, I have been doing treatments using boiled onion and garlic water mixed with coconut and olive oil for approx the past 4-5 months

lol, this is the funniest wake up call for most that think they have good hair. How do I know? because it happened to me. Was a huge shock factor into reality.

Shave, then are shocked at how nappy and thin it grows back in. or worst, diffuse patches ... none of which you have.

Unless you have uber tier hair, it's going to look sh*t after it grows from a 0 guard.
