don't worry dude, I have the same thing, i've come to realize that the density of your hair is never the same on all sides, my hair above the ears has ALWAYS been thing like this too, but only when I started male pattern baldness did I realize how thin they seemed. Unless you have a rare alopecia, that area is pretty impermeable to male pattern baldness, dont worry, and btw your hair is lookin good man

DHT is needed for hair to grow in that area, blocking it makes it fall out or easy to pull out!

retrograde alopecia.

I have a minor amount also on my right side.

best you can do is apply minioxidil to this area.

The hair above the ears/sideburns is programmed to either grow as beard or scalp hair, As DHT is responsible for facial hair growth, i think it is entirely possible that the presence of DHT causes these hairs to grow as beard hair instead of facial hair. I've experienced it myself on AA and easily pulling hair out of that area/sideburns. I developed thinning there which only stopped when I came off AA, like Shookwun said minoxidil can help!
