It can be pretty hard sometimes to pick out the modern day snake oil because sometimes its not black and white. Maybe it does work for certain people and not others. Especially when there is some evidence it could work which seems to be a lot of things for male pattern baldness

PRP helped heal my shoulder, but it did nothing when I tried this procedure for my hair.

I think PRP is the worse of the scam treatments because the press is giving it good coverage.

https://www.newbeauty.com/hottopic/blogpost/10217-platelet-rich-plasma-treatment-for-hair-loss/

It's funny, because it's very cheap (500.00 to 400.00) for me to get one.

But every time I ask if they use A-Cell (I thought was the best, but who knows??), same answer. Even from
doctor's who advertise it as their specialty. No. They don't do that.

Makes me think WTF. I have a big WHAT THE f*** moment.

I tried it and its sh*t ye

Do you have before/after pictures? I believe you. But I kind of need to see it for myself.

I was told, by a doctor, it won't bring dead follicles back to life. So, you have to have
some terminal hair already around the diffuse area, for it to even matter.

A hair transplant clinic offered me PRP for $2600. Doctors are charging a lot of money for it. I of course declined as I have never seen any evidence of this procedure doing anything. They also asked me to buy some device to put on my head that shoots laser beams. I was like yeah, right. Never going back to that clinic again. People working there were acting more like sales men/women trying to sell their inferior product.

I might try it in Spring..On womens forums they report more positive results than on this forum

it makes me wonder the men who are getting it how far along they are in hair loss scale

I was told by Dr its not good for advanced hair loss.

Im early stage...right now (knock on wood) i am responding well to treatments minoxidil and topical spironolactone so i am not in a rush.

A reputable Alopecia researcher and dermatologist who does NOT do PRP that i consulted with about my hair biopsies i asked her what she thought of PRP she said their is not enough data yet. She said in March at the dermatology association they are getting a presentation at the conference I assume from an independent study to see if its something they will start recommending or not.

I have a friend who is a dermatologist i see her for normal skin issues and cosmetic stuff not hair loss..She just started to do PRP..she showed me pics before after of a woman with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia which is a scarring type..The pics were good. Definite regrowth. I trust this Dr because i know her for years and we are friends she is someone who will stop using treatments if she does not see positive results in her patients..>i dont see her for my hair loss because I had initially gone to a hair transplant surgeon for consult and he started to treat me medically (i have low iron on top of androgenic)

He was also honest with me about PRP--he said it might help me but he really wanted to get my iron up first and do other treatments to see if its necessary.

He said he has better results with women and people with androgenic with inflammation--he has no idea why. He said about 2/3 have good results.

Depending where you are at on norwood scale i would not cross if off list i would research it more but i would be careful who you get it done by.

Hey,
I was told the same, its thickens up weak follicles and is best for diffuse thinners. Of course there wont be regrowth. So I thought perfect in my case, every year a treatment until something better comes out ( im on minoxidil and ru btw, finasteride did nth and got sides).

Ye the only thing wrong with prp is, it does not help in male pattern baldness imho ;). Just nothing happened. Thats the sh*t. I paid 1000 bucks for 3 treatments (2 prp, 1 vitamin complex).

So sad to read yuor stories about various treatments and money spent. The usual treatments do not bring results because they are physiology based. The view on hair is very limited and approaches itslef are thes ame- they look for the reaosn outside us and use external things to help with hair problems. Luckily I avoided spending big money on PRP or alike, was sure topical local approach would not work. My natural treatments did not work either when my hair was falling down as rain. By luck I stumbled upon my specialist who sees the hair diffrently and approaches the hair loss problems from different angle- from the functionlaity level. Hair has a specific function which is very different from beuatifying us ( it is one of the many) and warming up our heads. It has many functions actually but the most important one is its connection to the brain. It is so that our hair is our brains main infromatin channel. You might find it ridiculous but the method developed by my specialist based on this philosophy got my hair back without medicines or surgery. And it cost me far less than what I read. The means I use are high end brand shampoo and products, comb from natural product, special combing technique and special techniques/excercises for structuring the hair (done by my hands). By structuring you have to think of putting in order the atomic structure of your hair. My specialist is a chemist and she sees our body as liquid crystal. Depending on its structure it can be either glass or crystal. She is teaching her clients to structure crystal. Both men and women.

I am now busy with detoxing my hair follices and doing the struturing exercises to keep my hair improving. The hair loss is stopped, regrowth is back, so I go for shiny glossy healthy hair.

I am sure you will find this approach unusual or even ridiculous , of may be even laughing at it but I have my results and do not spend money on things I am not sure will work ot will damage my health. A matter of choice after all.

Hope you find your best treatment too.

So probably this is not very good for those of us who have already lost their hair?

It is good also for people who lost their hair. Our hair does not end at the physical ends. There are ways to work with the energetic part of the hair and regrow it. I am not capable of doing this but my specialist is. Not a quick treatment and I assume not difficult based on the things what I am doing. You just need to be lucky to stumble upon a person who knows what to do.

I like this talk about energy. Can your specialist teach me how to go super saiyan and get luscious hair in the same process?
