So, according to my intrepertetion of his information, there's no such thing as 'genetic' hair loss and people are only losing hair because of certain "conditions".

Not at all. DNA > Protein > "Conditions". Environmental variables can play a role, but during the normal pathogenesis of male pattern baldness---it is not significant.

I think what hes saying is mostly true but hes presenting it wrong. The things he pointed out will raise DHT, which is going to cause hair loss. It is environmental in a sense that you can control your genetics with environment. Taking finasteride is an environmental factor for instance. Diet is probably the single largest hormone determiner.
