Hey all,

So I have given my story before, saying I take finasteride and t/gel as outlined in the study by Merck.

Well, I have stopped using T-Gel for a couple of months, and I can say that, my hair has started falling again and my hair has fallen into a state along with itchiness.

I do believe that the T/Gel part of the study is very important, I have used nizoral, but the hair falls with that also.

The moral of the story is, if you're using finasteride without T/Gel and are not getting results, give T/gel a go, it has worked for me, it may not work for everyone though.

How important do others think it is??

well, it is what the official merk study had. They should have done it without the shampoo. I think it is important to use a shampoo which will fight scalp fungus and may have anti androgenic properties. If tgel works for you, then by all means continue with it, especially if you want to mimick merks results as best as possible.

If T-gel is working for you (and it certainly sounds like it is), consider looking up conditions that can cause fungus infections as this is what T-gel affects. The "possible" anti-androgenic effects are only if you eat it and you get enough of it to your testicles, it's not a topical effect. Don't eat it.

I didn't state it had anti androgenic properties :dunno:

They did use it in the trials, yes.

T/Gel was a key component of the study, what's to say 100% of the test rats had results due to T/Gel?

I did say it may not work for everyone, but it did for me, Nizoral didn't do a thing, in fact, accelerated my hair loss once again!

The moral of the story, once again, if you're using finasteride without T/Gel and are not getting results, give T/gel a go, it has worked for me, it may not work for everyone though.
