The illusion of "success" pictures

Ok, i have compiled a lot of pictures of myself over the years. This has really shown me that some of the success pictures people use aren't a very good way of judging the effectivness of a treatment. Your hairline can look great in one pic and horrible in another pic/angle because of many factors.

I think this is especially true for hairlines. It is the ABSOLUTE WORST when people compare their initial pic with short hair and then their "success" pic with much longer hair. Idiots, that creates an illusion of thicker hair to a point and but it could also look worse (depending on your hair type obviously).

Other factors include ANGLE, hair style, product in hair, LIGHTING, whether your hair was just washed, and all kinds of other factors.

Sometimes i trip out and think i am getting worse or somehow better. But when i put all other factors equal (like after the same hair cut) It appears I am generally remaining the same.

Just some food for though..........................

You are missing the point dude.

I am a success story myself. I'm not knocking success stories in general, however, make sure when stating a success story that all things are held equal but time and regimen in the pics.

I agree with you Phillip. A lot of companies flashes before-after pictures and frankly, almost all before pictures has higher brightness values then the after pic does..

That's why I have tried to take pics at the same angle with my hair combed the same way.

For a while I felt that I was imagining improvement, but I know now that my vertex has seen huge improvement because before I had nothing to comb... I was becoming the guy with the 200 hairs combed forward.... knowwhadimean?

I'm not as clear about my crown, but mostly because I never took measurements so my feeling that it's better is based on the fact that it's darker.

I do think some users from time to time are imaginin change, but in many cases the improvement is obvious.

Good luck brothas!
