I want to debunk this DHT sensitivity theory once and for all.
This theory makes no sense whatsoever and the truth is right in front of our eyes.
The theory goes that hair loss or male pattern baldness is caused hair follicles being sensitive to DHT which cause miniaturisation. It is true that DHT causes hair loss but it isn't the hair follicles being sensitive the is the reason behind it.
Let's example further shall we.

Here is the Norwood scale.
Now you see. Men do lose hair to DHT. However they only lose on the scalp. male pattern baldness doesn't effect the side or the back of the scalp.
Now here is my issue with DHT sensitivity theory. Men who receive hair transplant get hair from the donor hair areas. Which commonly the back or side of the scalp. These areas are free from male pattern baldness.
However, men who receive hair transplant still have to use finasteride or they will lose hair eventually. If the hair sensitivity was true. Then the new hair from the donor area should never bald and finasteride shouldn't be necessary yet hair transplant patients usually still have to use finasteride. It makes no sense whatsoever and theory holds no water.
Also why does male pattern baldness follow the EXACT same patterns in all men of all races majority of the time,
Example
White male pattern baldness

Black male pattern baldness

Asian male pattern baldness

Indian male pattern baldness

It always starts at the temple causing a receding hairline. Over time the hairline goes further back and eventually the crown goes. And years later finally the middle spot goes as well completing the horse shoe. Again if the hair sensitivity theory was real, than we would have all wacky and different patterns of hairloss. Like hair loss starting the middle of the scalp. Only one side of temple going, random tiny bald spots and so on.
i think what really is happening is that DHT is being deposited in the scalp and clogging the hair follicles. Hair loss patterns in the scalp follow the exact places where blood flow or blood capillaries are tighest in the scalp such as the temple/hairline and crown. So as DHT builds up over time, hair slow dies because it is being suffocated.
It is a slow process blind to the individual until they see real recession and thinning.
Thoughts?
