hi, sorry if this post doesnt belong here but anyways im new and ive been reading this forum for the past hour or so and I think I need to use the big three. I am a 21 male and my widows peak is growing. I am getting a little worried because my moms dad is completely bald but my dad has alot of hair still so I have a 50/50 chance of losing it all lol. Also I have hair all over the back of my head but you can feel where the hair parts back there it feels thinner. It stands out everytime I get a fresh haircut especially. Also for the past 3 months or so everytime I shower and I rub my hair alot of it will come out. So is the big three for me? How much does this run I have no idea where to start. Someone please tell me what the big three consists of. Also what shampoo or conditioner does everyone use because I think its what I use thats causing it. thank you in advance!

It depends where you buy your stuff. If you buy it all from the store, it'll cost you less than 90$/month.

I asked the same questions shortly after I found this forum a few days ago. Here was my reply from libertine:

you either need the big two or the big three

thats

finasteride (propecia,proscar,fincar etc)
nizoral 2% shampoo
rogaine foam 5%

finasteride will maintain what you have
the foam will regrow
and the nizoral is good for a healthy scalp and maybe a maintenance

just look into 'the big three' on this site, youll def find a regimen that suits you best

Just read some of the success stories and other treatments. The Big 3 is definitely the most popular. I am actually planning on trying it myself. I'd recommend snapping some photos of your hair and post them in one of these forums. There are some very intelligent people on this forum that could probably give you better input than a specialist. Once again, I plan on doing the same :). Good luck, and I hope you conquer your hair loss.

Minoxidil and Propecia are the only multi-year, phaseIII tested treatments.
Nizoral was only 6 month tested, but in 3 independent studies, and is so cheap and easy to apply.

Tricomin was tested in only 1 6 month trial.
So was piroctone olamine shampoo.

Revivogen, RU58841, topical GTE, and especially topical spironolactone, have many compelling in vivo studies but don't have any large human trials I know of.

Topical Apple poly was studied in Japan, but we can't find the original study. Only the people selling it (not Japanese) have a translated summary.

Eucapil has a 1 year human study, but it was done by the people who sell it. Folligen has mice studies which are also done by the guy who sells it.
------------------------------
Propecia: get a prescription for proscar, and cut it in 4ths.
Minoxidl: get it at walmart, 3 for $19.
Nizoral: This site sells it, though I think amazon.com has the lowest price (free shipping) if you get 4 bottles.

I had a similar problem the other day on the "Men's General Hairloss" forum. It kept telling me that I'm not allowed to spam by listing a certain Web site, even though I hadn't listed any Web site. I never WAS able to make that post. I finally just gave up.

Propecia
Minoxidl
Nizoral

And the only way I can get Propecia is through precription? How well off will I be with just Minoxidl and Nizoral? And how do u apply them or use them and what are these precentages I keep seeing. Like Nizoral 2% or 1% whats the difference i just dont want my hair burned off lol. Thanks guys!
