Hey guys, a quick positive note.

I've been fake baking the last three weeks because I figured if my hair was going to try and look lame, I'd really focus in on making the rest of me look rocking. Since then, I've gotten back my tan that I had when I was surfing daily. Here's my verdict for you guys..

Get a damn tan!

It's unbelievable how much it's changed the way I view my hair, my face, and everything else. I look young, like I am, and my confidence is getting much closer to where it used to be. I'm definitely going to maintain this tan throughout my Propecia for a year regimen. I know for awhile there, I felt that since my hair was starting to look like crap, I didn't have control over my sex appeal. Wrong. Gym and tan kick it right back into gear.

Sidenote: Don't know where else to put this but here. I really really appreciate reading everything that HairLossTalk.com, Trent8, and brasileirao contribute. You guys always remain positive and man, that's a good network to have. Thanks guys.

Its highly suggested you have your tan sprayed on you. Fake and Bake is not so good for your skin (a-duh)....... dont live for the moment think about your future as well.

Four out of five dermatologists recommend it.

I agree 100%. The amount of young people shattering their future looks for a few years of a deep tan is horrible. You have people in their early teens and 20's looking like 30 already. A light fake & bake tan is one thing, but what some of these people do is appalling. Just in my office we have a fleet of female college interns :) and half of them look like they smoke 3 packs a day and binge drink all night because of that nasty tan.

But on the other hand, I have a friend who goes in for a fake spray twice a month for a light glow and she looks great. I may start doing this since I can't tan at all.

My girlfriend just had a spray tan and she hated it. It wore off so uneven and it was a complete pain in the arse after it had been sprayed on. You have to expholiate and moisturise before hand and it can look uneven in places. But it's safe at least. But I suppose that's until they tell us that the delivery system they use causes cancer....

Hey Bro,

Its no problem...

I figure life is too short for too many worries. Sure we are trying to battle hair loss, but why lose sleep over it. Plus, Im sure we all have other crap do deal with on a daily basis, why add to the pain when a few words can make a world of difference.

Keep on trucking....and remember....everything in moderation is OK. :)

Take care!

As we know , the human body needs at least 20 minutes of exposure to sunlight , it helps with pituitary / testosterone functions as well as vitimin D absorbtion. To much is also harmful, this we all should know. Ahhhhhh all the times i spent outside in my parents back yard to get a tan all the hours in a booth gettin ready for a bodybuilding show.....BLAH.I heard you shouldnt breath in any of this spray so wear some type of breathing apparatus or if you can hold your breath for 2 minutes your golden ;-)

Another benefit it only takes like 2 minutes to get your body sprayed vs 30 min to 45 min in a booth.

Suggestion - do some research and get some facts. Just like your hair regime.

**Also we all know you look more healthy with a tan. Thats a fact.

Everything causes cancer was the last post . I had cancer at age 13, from what? Dr's dont really know but may think it was from xrays by the dentist, Who was old school and didnt use sheilds half the time. I had a huge burn this summer and accumilated some freckles on my lower chest....i have to watch these lil suckers.

With all this said......One of my philosphys is moderation for anything. Thats why i take off the finasteride occasionly to give my body a break.

Hairloss sucks.... but consider yourself blessed if you have your health.
Take percautions and use good judement but dont be a*** about it all and most of all enjoy life.

ok nuff talking im going in 40 differnt directions

Hmmm.

I've always been conflicted here. I really do want a tan, but I'm afraid of the effects of tanning beds.

How dangerous are they, really? In moderation, of course. I don't want to be baked, just slightly browned.

If spray on tans are the way to go, how much does something like that cost? How often do you have to get it done? And on the same note, exactly where would you go to get something like that done anyway?

In my opinion, tanning is much like everything else that has a known risk. Educate yourself.

I use the High pressure beds which 1. Don't burn you 2. Last longer 3. You only need to go 3 times initially to get a base tan, and then 2 times a month to maintain. That's very minimal exposure considering.

They are much more expensive but ultimately, they are better for you because you have much less time in a bed and you never burn.
