I had totally forgotten about this bill. It seems like a no brainer to streamline these regulations and rolling back the powers of regulatory government agencies that operate as bureaucracies is a big Republican platform. Taking more than a decade for a drug to go from proof of concept to the market is obviously incompatible with warping into a new age of regenerative medicine. Not having to zip half way around the globe for multiple treatments would certainly help keep costs down for us.
Yeah it's an absolute joke that it takes over 10 years, nothing should take that long. Any benefit you get from waiting and being extra "safe" is nullified because the drug is being used by an entirely different generation of people by then. I would hope for 5 or fewer years.
