Now you can rest easy knowing you have a very, very good chance of keeping your hair and a pretty darn good chance of seeing some regrowth. Take some pics every few months for comparison. In the meantime go enjoy being young and having a pretty good head of hair.

wtf, its this easy?

I am amazed at this, I am 18, and it looks like if I start using finasteride and or/ Propecia, I can prevent from losing my hair.

Well you can at the very least slow down your hair loss dramatically. However, male pattern baldness is progressive and your hair follicles will become increasingly sensitive as you age. I think the goal with finasteride/dutasteride is to maintain as much as you can until better treatments eventually become available.

1mg is the recommended dose. There are studies that show lower doses than 1mg are almost as effective, but as Bryan Sheldon keeps on saying, the response curve isn't totally flat, so ALMOST is the word.

As for a good shampoo, Nizoral 3 times a week is the way to go.

Dude, I was the one suggesting you spironolactone but only since you didn´t want to take finasteride at first. imo for your moderate hairloss finasteride should do the trick. Ofc spironolactone won´t do you any harm so it is up to you.

There is some amount of risk with any of these so-called "internet pharmacies." They are merely middlemen, likely sitting at their kitchen table in pajamas in front of their notebook, processing your orders and fulfilling through 3rd world shops. Try to get them to give you their company's physical address... yeah right. You know why? What they're doing is illegal.

You should absolutely be aware that these are not legitimate organizations. Many are fly-by-night operations changing their names in a way akin to the p**rn industry. Sure, some of them have been around for a few years...but it's still the same supply chain. Roll the dice if you choose but going to your MD and getting a bona fide prescription will both 1) keep you on the side of the law and 2) guarantee that you receive genuine medication.

Wait, so minoxidil is too drastic, yet you're going to take Prepecia..... :nofear:

Haha. You know why I think he said that, it's because of some folks here who scare people about shedding when using minoxidil. Even though, most people don't get the sides, and even though minoxidil is safer.

I completely agree with his statement if by drastic he's not talking about side effects.

finasteride = 1/4 tab daily, no other worries.

minoxidil = 2 applications daily massaged into scalp.

It's certainly more of a chore using minoxidil as opposed to finasteride.

Like Jayman says time and time again,

Start off with finasteride/dutasteride + Nizoral for a year and see if it has any benefit.

Don't use minoxidil unless you seriously need to! Once you're on it, it's a lifetime commitment.
