I always thought that testosterone was responsible for hair growth. Sure blocking DHT with an anti-androgen is cool, but testosterone. If you blocked testosterone from hair follicle wouldn't it keep it from growing? Maybe thats why a growth stimulator like minoxidil is recommended. Not unless there are other hormones responsible for hair growth like growth hormone. Please clarify things for me guys. :? :? :? :? :? :?

Err...never heard that testosterone was responsible for hair growth, and I don't think it's true either, unless you can cite some evidence. Quite the opposite, I've read that testosterone contributes to male pattern baldness - it's not as bad as DHT, but nonetheless it's not good for your hair. I've heard several people say this. I'm not 100% certain that it's true though. I've heard people on other sites recommending things like topical spironolactone because that will block both DHT and testosterone from binding to the hair follicle.

Hope that helped. I'd also like to know a bit more about the relationship between hair and other hormones.

Cheers.

I know that GH is supposed to be good for hair growth.

I've heard that GH is good for anti-aging in general. It wouldn't surprise me if it were good for hair growth. Come to think of it, the zix guy on that other *helpful* site claims that an HGH supplement helped with his hair. That stuff is expensive though.

Cheers.

If testosterone was responsible for hair growth...then we'd be seeing a LOT of bald women.

Maybe using GH releasing supplements will help. Like GH Stak from muscle link.

You're exactly right.

Not really. IF testosterone were necessary for hair growth (and I don't think that it is), who's to say HOW MUCH testosterone would be necessary? Women DO have testosterone, they just have less testosterone in their bodies than men. Maybe that little bit of testosterone women have in their bodies would be enough. The only problem would be blocking testosterone completely, or almost completely.

Maybe that is the reason why women have thicker, stronger hair than men. More estrogen, less testosterone, much less DHT than men. Cool. :p :p 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) :D :D :hairy:

This is true. But on the upside, at least we men don't bleed from our crotches every month.

:freaked2: :freaked2: :freaked2:

Unless we have an STD.

Yeah that would be fuckin scary. Just think about us men on the rag. That would be so weird. Men and women could actually relate and talk on an even frequency. :freaked2: :freaked2: :hairy:
