i hear alot about minoxidil causing sheds. my question is this.. if minoxidil is applied to bare temples only does it still cause shedding? or does sheding only occur when minoxidil is rubbed into existing hair. i ask this as my temples are only back about a cm with vellus still there. was going to just rub a little into this cm.

im guessing minoxidil absorbs in2 scalp and causes shed everywhere? pleasehelp. thanks

I think that the minoxidil has effect in the sorrounding areas of the application as well. But not too sure about this.

Yes, minoxidil will permeate into the scalp and affect surrounding areas that you did not directly apply it. So, you can see shedding of hairs that are near where you applied it directly. I still really don't understand the principle behind shedding more hairs on hair loss products. The so called experts say your hair would have fallen out any way, its just the minoxidil or propecia caused it to fall out sooner. Ok, does that mean, instead of losing normally 50 hairs a day, you are going to lose 100 hairs instead every day as long as you use it?
