Although my hair seems to be getting thicker on top with Propecia, I think I'm losing ground at my temples. I don't want to have the greasiness of Minoxodil on the front of my head all day, so I was wondering if anyone would recommend a copper peptide spray like Tricomin for my temples. Has anyone had frontal regrowth or maintainance using any copper peptide product?

Hi Mr. Maintenance,
I don't know if it will help but here is my story.. after almost 3 years on finasteride, I have been starting to lose ground at the temples. I have added nizoral and Folligen cream to my regimen for the last two months and there is some improvements .. nothing sensational but definitely some improvements ..
Unfortunately, i cannot say wether it's nizoral or folligen that is effective because I started both at the same time ..
I don't know why but I really like the folligen cream .. I want to believe that it will help although with my type of hair loss (slowly but steadily receeding hairline - i am 34 and i have been losing hair for the last 8 or 10 years) there is little hope .. :?
Ciao,

Dom

I can't imagine regrowth (especially in the temples) is possible with copper peptides. Just my opinion.

The temple area is usually the first to go and the last to come back. I have regrowth in the crown and vertex, but only vellus hair on the temples. I have used minoxidil, copper peptides and MGF+ there, as well as taking finasteride, using Nizoral and using the Laser Comb.

How long have you been using MGF??

Did you see those studies I've cited in the past which compared copper peptides favorably to minoxidil? They were done with humans, rats, and mice. If you saw them (I've posted them a few times in this forum), why can't you even IMAGINE that regrowth would be possible?? Do you think those studies were falsified?? One of the investigators was Hideo Uno, who is famous for his stumptailed macaque trials with RU58841, minoxidil, etc.

Bryan, what is your take on tin peptides? According to Dr. Pickart, they produce more regrowth than copper peptides.

I started using MGF+ on my temples only about 6 weeks ago, instead of one of my minoxidil applications. It contains minoxidil anyway, so I'm still using minoxidil twice daily, only one of the applications is MGF+, the other is regular minoxidil. I've been losing my hair slowly at my temples for a long time, at least 20 years, so there is really no hope of me getting much regrowth there.

With what concentration of copper peptides did he do and what amount of CPs is in Folligen, Tricomin etc. ???

Folligen has 9% cu's. The concentrations in the studies were lower, I believe. However, of equal or perhaps greater importance to percentage concentration is the exact peptide structure found in the product. Tricomin has one peptide, Folligen has several, I believe. What we don't know is whether that makes any difference, i.e., it could be that only one peptide is effective, or that one is more effective than others. If that turns out to be true, then concentration is meaningless, and the different peptides in Folligen may be a waste. The vehicle is also potentially important, although I believe cu's are all water soluble, so that is less important than with minoxidil.
