Hey everyone,

New to the site but here goes - let me give y'all the run down:

- hair started shedding in summer 2015 (that's when I started to notice more in the shower)
- I'm 20 th
- been using minoxidil 5% once a day since Feb 2016 and now use it 4 times a week as per my dermatologists instructions
- been using Viviscal for 4 months
- been told I have Male Pattern by 2 dermatologists, been told I have a chronic case of Telogen Effluvium by 2 trichologists and been told I have a mixture of both by another
- hairline is still intact
- I thin randomly, and diffusely in the middle of my head
- have sebhorreic dermatitis so use anti dandruff shampoo
- vegetarian so my iron is low
- I have anxiety and get stressed very easily

So what do we think? Because I have no idea who's telling me the truth anymore

Wasn't sure how much info was needed but happy to give more

Cheers,
Ty

Do you have a lot of miniaturized hairs?
Are you seeing thinning on your sides?

You probably have some form of both.

You have to post pictures to get any good advise.

Thanks for replying

There is a bit of thinning on the sides- shape still looks fine but perhaps not as many hairs as there used to be and I'd say it is a bit thinner

I do have a TON of miniature hairs

Also, take my crown for instance. On the right side it's thinner than the left. There's no uniformity at all so I'm so baffled because its just random and all over the place pretty much aha.

I'm gonna try see my Dermatologist soon and see what's up - although a combination of both does seem likely.

I'll try post pictures tomorrow

Ok. Miniaturized hairs is almost always some from of androgenic alopecia. Sounds like male pattern baldness with slight diffuse thinning.

Thanks again

I've had the miniature hairs growing side I was a kid though...
Just in front of my hairline which the barber trims during a shape up. No miniaturization anywhere else and I've been doing this for years now. Diffuse thinning is definitely involved somehow. And there is some male pattern baldness in there

Interesting
