Telogen Effluvium ENDING

I went to my hair specialist derm today and it looks like and she confirmed that my Telogen Effluvium is ending. Now when I asked her about the hair regrowing since the shed is almost stopped she didn't give me a straight answer. What does that mean or supposed to mean? Are the chances good most of my hair will make a decent recovery. Right now, everything is fine, except when it is wet and in a bright light, then the horror is evident. I was hoping that at least some of most of the hair would grow back.

Curently I just have recession on the left side with the sporadic diffuse thnning, one inch, thick as all hell, the next, entire hair missing.

She said I didn't propecia right now, and after what I've read on these forms, I am not so sure I would use propecia.

Also, what are the chances that this will be the end of any problems with my hair for awhile, with no bald genes evident, (relatives have heads of hair like buffalo) I was kind of hoping that any male pattern baldness would be minor, and I 've hard that the early it starts the more chance you have to be really bad.

nobody on these forums can answer the questions you've asked without proper background info and a diagnosis.

derms = crap.

if you have t.e it can take 6 months - 1 year for your hair to grow. and most of it grows back or maybe even all of it.

get this amino acid called l-lysene. its supposed to be good for t.e recovery.

I agree with Krush there isnt a real solid answer as to when your hair will grow back after Telogen Effluvium.Im nearly into 10 months of my Telogen Effluvium i starting noticing a bit of regrowth end of febuary then nothing grew back 2 months ago i noticed regrowth sprouting up over the top of my scalp it takes time as it will be another good few months for them to make much impact.And even now 10 months on i still have my thin areas where the regrowth is only a bit of stubble.

Yea, I've been using L-Lysene since I read about it.

I don't quite understand derms, yes its Telogen Effluvium, no its not Telogen Effluvium, but you don't need propecia yet. But the sooner you start, the better it works. And it's safe.

WHAT THE F@CK are the these people doing?

i'm going to the derm in hopes for answers too, but i won't get those hopes up to high.
i've been losing 200-350 hairs/day for a good part of the last year. no recession but a lot of thinning now...and the jury seems split. it could be Telogen Effluvium that i'll recover from, or as many folks have said, it could be a rapid Telogen Effluvium that just marks the onset of male pattern baldness, in which case kiss the hair goodbye before you pull it from the sink and drop it in the trash, because it aint coming back.

sorry i don't have any info to add...but i too would like to hear about anyway to determine if it is just a temporary Telogen Effluvium or if it the beginning of baldness Telogen Effluvium. And I would like that method to be something better than:
1. Wait two years.
2. Look in mirror.
3. If you're bald now it was the latter if not, the former.

Yea, it's just a little annoying. For high blood pressure you can take stuff and work out, for bad backs and stuff you can go to therapy. For arthritis you can take natural or non-nats that targets the exact cuase, not some chemical that is involved with some other one, when the moon is out it's after the ides of march.

Basically my point is, hair loss is a ridicolous condition, one minute you hear use this or that, the next you hear you shouldnt' One minute it's Telogen Effluvium, the next its male pattern baldness, the next it's Telogen Effluvium and male pattern baldness made babies and your head is the offspring.

I'm going to shave my head and do some cycles and just get nice and lean, a slick bald guy looks better than a fat guy with all his hair anyday.

Off to join the bald brotherhood.

Thats a bit of a silly statement hair loss is generic the same way as some people are fat or they could be fat due to a illness or medication. :roll:

The great thing about being fat or not is that you can control it. You just work out hard and pay attention to your diet etc.

I have suffered what I think is a T.E. episode early this year due to me starting and stopping finasteride. My sides have been hammered and the backof my head been hammered. Was almost slick bald, very diffuse to the left and right bottom of the centre back of my head.

I'm 25. Its killing me. I have long hair so I'm able to cover it OK.

I've been to a Derm here in the UK early this year when I was shedding loads and she was totally useless. I said I was taking finasteride and she had to double check with a stand in nurse that this was for hairloss. I believe if your in the UK and you want to see someone about hairloss you've no chance unless you travel to London and get fleeced by some private clinic.

Anyway to get back to my original post I believe I'm slowly making progress regrowing the lost hair, although its taken a good 4-5 months to start this road. I don't know if I will regrow all my hair (IMHO I don't think I will) but any progress is good progress IMO.

Thanks, I pray for the best as well, but I must prepare for the worst. Which is why I much rather spend money on liposuction and steroids than a hair transplant.

This morning I was putitng my wax in and like 20 dark hairs came out in my hands and fingers, so much for the Telogen Effluvium ending, it just seems more sporadic. But other parts seem to be filling in, so I am not sure if it is possible to be filling in your old areas and sheddng new areas.

I am not very impressed by them, (not near that stage, still norwood 2) for the amount of money you spend. I guess we'll have to wait for HM in 5 years or whatever.

Time like these I really despise my dad. The man when through chemo, kept all his hair, smoke and drank like it was his last day, and looked like a buffallo when he died, wtf.
