I'm 22, shower every other day or two, see ~20-40 hairs total per shower, fewer if I shower daily. My brother is NW5A at 30 (abused the sh*t out of his hair for years), my maternal grandfather at 88 retained a lot his hair for well into his old age.

I don't know. This is taking a severe toll on my psyche. Is there some service where I can send in a cheek swab, and the boffins analyze my DNA to see if I have the androgen receptor variant? I know HairDX offers something like that but not by mail.

First of all, what do you guys think, and what should I do?

i know you're not trying to be funny or anything but seriously this forum is litterered with posts like this

c'mon man, you know that a picture of a thick head of hair is..well.....a picture of a thick head of hair.

by that i mean, are you seriously expecting us to ppick out evidence of balding when its patently not there?

fact is YOU'LL always be the first person to know in cases like yours (where you hair seems to be falling out alot)....its only years later does it cosmetically show.

I don't expect anything, obviously. How is one expected to react when they experience something like this for the first time in their life? I was only hoping for a little insight since there appears to be some expertise here.

If there is "expertise" its not really in the line of diagnosing photos of full heads of hair.

But yeah, for you, id start with using nizoral shampoo and simply watch things closely. some will suggest propecia tablets but i wouldn't advise those until you're atleast sure your have male pattern baldness.

It really killed his good looks. Anyway, when my hair is wet, it seems to part, revealing more scalp than it used to. I don't know if this is because my hair is long or what. Of course, I've noticed things about my hair that may not be evident in the pictures I posted.

Yeah this is why we usually notice these subtle changes ourselves first.

you know how thick and coverage your hair had before for instance

also, the real acid test is wet hair (mine looks horrific wet but acceptable dry!)
