Taking First Pill Of Finasteride Tomorrow

So I was at the doctor's today and finally mentioned to him about Propecia (Finasteride). My local pharmacy has the generic and not the name brand. The generic is cheaper and after reading up on it, the name brand doesn't really seem to be necessary. I'm taking my first pill tomorrow.

I just finished briefly reading up on the main page talking about Nizoral or Regenepure. Should I go around and check where I can find either of those? Or maybe just start the medication to see how it goes without a shampoo?

If I am to experience any side effects, such as a decrease in libido, how soon could I expect it? I find mine is very high to begin with so my thinking is that maybe it wouldn't be too hard of a hit if it does affect me. I guess I'll find out.

Gratz man. Wish you the best of luck. Generic is the way to go, same stuff much cheaper. Nizoral shampoo can help but isn't really necessary, but can order it online (Amazon). You may notice side effects within a few hours tbh. Pretty sure finasteride is a very fast acting drug. Will take months to notice any effects on hair if you respond well though. Don't really think about it though and you should be fine. If you get any major side effects I would quit. Many people report minor side effects that disappear over time though. If you experience any of these just post it on the forums if you want to hear what everyone thinks. Key is to not think about any of this stuff though, because your mind is very powerful.

Use RU58841. Doesn't block vital enzymes within the body. Blocks dht from attaching to hair follicles. Profit.

The part that worries me, and that I've just started seeing more posts about, is the fact that it gets worse before it gets better. That's always the classic effect of drugs. It's just that some people are saying it gets worse, but doesn't seem to get better for a very long time, if at all. I definitely don't want that to happen and am debating whether it's worth the risk or not.

Disagree, many people experience regrowth without any kind of shed. Shedding is more typical on minoxidil than finasteride.

Lol? Using RU over finasteride.....pretty stupid. FDA approved drug vs. chemical made in some Chinese factory without any regulations. Also RU is a super super potent anti-androgen and just because it is applied topically doesn't mean it won't go systematic. Would never recommend RU over finasteride unless you try finasteride and have side effects. RU is a much bigger risk, and if you have issues no doctor will be able to help you.

Exciting stuff man. This drug has been fantastic not only for my hair but also my psychological and emotional health. Don't look for side effects, as dralex says the mind is powerful and if you're a paranoid person it can trick you into thinking things.

I first noticed an improvement in my hair at about 7 months, so remember to be patient. It takes time for regrowth with the way hair cycles work!

And avoid RU right now man. It's a last resort option for people whom finasteride and dutasteride have failed or given unbearable side effects

For people who respond well to Finasteride, does it typically regrow hair in areas where there is no hair left at all? I have the typical M shape at the front and ideally I would like it to regrow the hairs where there are none left. If all it does is thicken up where there is still hair, I can't really justify the $600+ a year for this stuff.

Anyone know if the drug can be covered under a drug plan? My job has an excellent benefits plan, but it doesn't seem this drug specifically is covered according to the drug store I bought the 30 pills at.

Propecia doesn't regrow on slick bald spots, if you have thinning it can definitely reinforce the hairs there, but aside from a select few the chances of regrowinf temples are slim if there is currently no hair on them.

Unfortunately propecia is for cosmetic purposes and isn't covered by insurance. If you can manage to get a 5mg prescription for finasteride there are ways to have your insurance cover it, which isn't really needed as the 5mgs cost one of my friends like 8$ a month

Do what you gotta do man, some people don't have the luxury of "a few more years" when it comes to hairloss. A couple years of no treatments for me and it's game over, so if you personally don't think it's bad enough then you have no reason to be taking the meds anyways.
