Taking Accutane , But Afraid Of Making Hair Worse

hey guys , i took accutane in the past ( when i was teenager) , and this drug is a fking miracle for skin .
i had perfect skin for at least 5 years after that .
recently i started to get breakout which leave scar on weird area ( not DHT related ) like upper cheek .

I would like to do a low dose accutane course , but i am afradi that would spped up my male pattern baldness and kill the miniaturized hair

Interested in this as well. I was on accutane in my early 20s and it was effective for beard folliclitis. I have struggled with acne only in the beard area for over 20 years. Derm wants me to try again but concerned it will destroy the hair I am trying to save.

Is beard hair DHT effected? I have zero acne other than in my beard chin/mouth area. These are large deep cysts that rarely hit the surface and swell. I grew a full beard as cover years ago, it was much worse when I tried to shave.

Yes and has been getting far worse. I did two cycles of accurate at 23-24. I’m 40 now.

I can’t get my head around the DHT thing. My serum levels are very very low, testosterone high. My hair changed overnight and has been a shedding mess for almost two year when for 40 years I had no loss at all. I have been in antibiotics for the beard for 20 years. I stopped when the Hairloss started because I was afraid it played a role.

I use it topically. Have been for many years. My issues are always much deeper in the skin.

You should just start finasteride. It helped clear up my acne somewhat. You are crazy to take accutane at 40 when you have not even fixed your thyroid issue. You want your liver to be screwed up too.

I was in minocycline/solodyn for about four years I stopped cold turkey when the first Telogen Effluvium hit. Not sure if it hurt hair but beard was much much better. Was told it could do damage long term, like apparently everything else.

Probably right on the Finasteride. Was hoping to buy a year or so. The already low serum DHT and thyroid issue seemed like to could cause bigger problems with Finasteride. I’m concerned RU is hoax.

but my skin on my cheek is really sensitive , and doesn't support topical .
accutane is like a bazooka which destroy all the acne everywhere ; much more convenient .
